NABARD Grade A - Eligibility - Career Growth - Salary - Perks - Exam Pattern - All Explained

National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) has released notification of Grade A officers (Assistant Manager) recruitment for the year 2024.
It has two types of posts:
1. Rural Development Banking Service (RDBS) posts.
2. Rajbhasha (Translator) posts.

RDBS posts includes General Management, Chartered Accountant, Finance, Computer/IT, Agriculture, Animal Husbandary, Fisheries, Food Processing, Forestry, Plantation/Horticulture, Geoinformatics, Development Management, Statistics, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, and Human Resource (HR).

Here in this blog, I have explained all the necessary details of this notification in brief.


Important Dates:

Notification released: 24th July 2024
Application Begins: 27th July 2024
Application Ends: 15th August 2024
Preliminary Exam Date: 1st September 2024.
Mains Exam Date: will be announced later.


Application Fees:

• General/OBC/EWS: ₹850 + 18% GST
• SC/ST/PwBD: ₹150 + 18% GST
• NABARD Staff: Fees according to category, but it will be reimbursed on submission of Fee Receipt.


Is there any Attempt Limit?
No there is no any attempt limit in NABARD Grade A examination. You can appear as many times you want, only till your upper age limit.

Note: You can apply for only ONE Post/Discipline, i.e., either for General Discipline or for Specialised Discipline. If you apply multiple times across or within disciplines for Grade A (RDBS), only the latest application will be valid, and the fee for other applications will be forfeited.


Salary and Perks:

Salary:
Pay Scale: ₹44500–2500(4)–54500–2850(7)–74450–EB–2850(4)–85850–3300(1)–89150(17 years).
Basic Pay: ₹44,500
Gross Pay: ₹1,00,000
In-hand salary: approx ₹88,000

Perks:
1. Vehicle maintenance (only for official use)
2. Accommodation (if available, otherwise 15% HRA will be given)

Probation Period: 2 years (can be further extended by maximum 1 year).


Career growth:
• In 4 years: Grade-A to Grade-B (Manager/District Development Manager - Heads District Offices).
• In next 5 years: Grade-B to Grade-C (Assistant General Manager - Heads DDMs Cluster Offices).
• In next 5 years: Grade-C to Grade-D (Deputy General Manager).
• In next 5-6 years: Grade-D to Grade-E (General Manager).
• In next 5-6 years: Grade-E to Grade-F (Chief General Manager - Heads Regional Offices - As Officer-in-charge or Heads an Entire Department).
(Most people retire here).
• On the basis of Seniority, two of the CGMs will be made "Deputy Managing Director (DMD)" and one of the CGM (senior-most) will be made "Managing Director (MD)".
• And finally, on the basis of seniority and remaining service period, one of the MD/DMDs will be made "Chairman of NABARD".


Educational Qualification (as on 01.07.2024):

A. Rural Development Banking Service (RDBS) posts.

1. General:
Bachelor’s Degree in any subject from any recognized University/Institution with a minimum of 60% marks (55% for SC/ST/PWBD)
Or;
Post Graduate degree, MBA/PGDM with a minimum of 55% marks (50% for SC/ST/PWBD)
Or;
CA/CS/ICWA
Or;
Ph.D from Institutions recognized by UGC.

2. Chartered Accountant:
Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognized University/Institution with Membership of Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI).

3. Finance:
BBA (Finance/ Banking)/ BMS (Finance/ Banking) from any recognized University/Institution with 60% marks (55% for SC/ST/PWBD) in aggregate.
Or;
Two years full time PGDM (Finance)/MBA (Finance)/MMS (Finance) degree with 55% marks (50% for SC/ST/PWBD) in aggregate from Institutions / Universities recognized by UGC.
Or;
Bachelor of Financial and Investment Analysis with 60% marks (55% for SC/ST/PWBD).

4. Computer/Information Technology:
Four years Bachelor’s Engineering/Technology Degree in Computer Science/Computer Engineering/Information Technology/Electronics/Electronics & Telecommunications/Electronics & Communication/Electronics & Instrumentation/Data Science/Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence from any recognized University/Institution with 60% marks (55% for SC/ST/PWBD) in aggregate.
Or;
Postgraduate Degree in Computer Science/Computer Engineering/Information Technology/Electronics/Electronics & Telecommunications/Electronics & Communication/Electronics & Instrumentation/Data Science/Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence from any recognized University/Institution with 55% marks (50% for SC/ST/PWBD) in aggregate.
Or;
Graduate with 60% marks (55% for SC/ST/PWBD) in aggregate from a recognized University/Institution AND having passed DOEACC ‘B’ Level.

5. Agriculture:
Bachelor’s Degree in Agriculture from any recognized University / Institution with a minimum of 60% marks (50% for PwBD) in aggregate
Or;
Two years full time Post Graduate Degree in Agriculture (Soil Science/Agronomy) with a minimum of 55% marks (50% for PwBD) in aggregate from a recognized University / Institution.

6. Animal Husbandry:
Bachelor’s Degree in Animal Husbandry from any recognized University / Institution with a minimum of 60% marks (50% for PwBD) in aggregate
Or;
Two years full time Post Graduate Degree in Animal Husbandry with a minimum of 55% marks (50% for PwBD) in aggregate from a recognized University / Institution.

7. Fisheries:
Bachelor’s Degree in Fisheries Science from any recognized University / Institution with a minimum of 60% marks (50% for ST/PwBD) in aggregate
Or;
Two years full time Post Graduate Degree in Fisheries Science with a minimum of 55% marks (50% for ST/PwBD) in aggregate from a recognized University / Institution.

8. Food Processing:
Bachelor’s Degree in Food Processing/Food Technology/Dairy Technology from any recognized University / Institution with a minimum of 60% marks (50% for PwBD) in aggregate
Or;
Two years full time Post Graduate Degree in Food Processing/Food Technology/Dairy Technology with a minimum of 55% marks (50% for PwBD) in aggregate from a recognized University / Institution.

9. Forestry:
Bachelor’s Degree in Forestry from any recognized University / Institution with a minimum of 60% marks (50% for PwBD) in aggregate
Or;
Two years full time Post Graduate Degree in Forestry with a minimum of 55% marks (50% for PwBD) in aggregate from a recognized University / Institution.

10. Plantation/Horticulture:
Bachelor’s Degree in Horticulture from any recognized University with a minimum of 60% marks (55% for PwBD) in aggregate
Or;
Post Graduate degree in Horticulture with a minimum of 55% marks (50% for PwBD) in aggregate from a recognized University/Institution.

11. Geo Informatics:
Bachelor’s degree in Geoinformatics from any recognized University/Institution with 60% marks (55% for PwBD) in aggregate
Or;
Post graduate degree in Geoinformatics with a minimum of 55% marks (PwBD applicants - 50%) in aggregate from a recognized University/Institution.

12. Development Management:
Bachelor’s degree in Social Work/Rural Development/Rural Management/Development Studies/Development Management/Development Administration/Economic/Development Economics from any recognized University/Institution with 60% marks (55% for ST/PwBD) in aggregate
Or;
Post Graduate degree in Social Work/Rural Development/Rural Management /Development Studies/Development Management/Development Administration/Economic/Development Economics with 55% marks (50% for ST/PwBD) in aggregate from a recognized University/Institution.

13. Statistics:
Bachelor's Degree in Statistics/Mathematical Statistics/Mathematical Economics/Econometrics/Statistics & Informatics/Applied Statistics & Informatics from a recognized University/Institution with 60% marks (55% for ST/PwBD) in aggregate

Post Graduate degree in Statistics/Mathematical Statistics/Mathematical Economics/Econometrics/Statistics & Informatics/Applied Statistics & Informatics with a minimum of 55% marks (50% for ST/PwBD) in aggregate from a recognized University/Institution.

14. Civil Engineering:
Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from any recognized University/Institution with 60% marks (55% for PwBD) in aggregate Or;
Post Graduate Degree in Civil Engineering with a minimum of 55% marks (50% for PwBD) in aggregate from a recognized University/Institution.

15. Electrical Engineering:
Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering/Electrical & Electronics Engineering from any recognized University/Institution with 60% marks (55% for ST/PwBD) in aggregate.
Or;
Post Graduate Degree in Electrical Engineering/Electrical & Electronics Engineering with 55% marks (50% for ST/PwBD) in aggregate from a recognized University/Institution.

16. Environmental Engineering/Sciences:
Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Engineering/ Environmental Science from any recognized University/Institution with 60% marks (55% for ST/PwBD) in aggregate.
Or;
Post Graduate Degree in Environmental Engineering/Environmental Science with 55% marks (50% for ST/PwBD) in aggregate from a recognized University/Institution.

17. Human Resource Management:
Bachelor’s Degree from any recognized University/Institution AND, Two years full time Post Graduate Degree/Diploma in Personnel Management/Industrial Relations/Human Resource/Human Resource Development/Labour Law) with 60% marks (55% for SC/PwBD) in aggregate from a recognized University/Institution.


B. Grade A (RajBhasha):
1. Bachelor's Degree from a recognized university in English or Hindi medium with Hindi and English as a compulsory or elective subject with a minimum of 60% marks (55% for SC/PwBD)
AND
PG Diploma in Translation (minimum one year) in Hindi to English and vice-versa from any recognized University. (Candidates must have studied English and Hindi as subjects in at least 02 years of bachelor’s degree course.)
Or;
2. Master’s Degree in HINDI with a minimum of 60% marks in aggregate (55% for SC/PwBD). Candidates must have studied English as main/ elective subject in at least 02 years of Bachelor’s Degree course.
Or;
3. Master’s Degree in ENGLISH with a minimum of 60% marks in aggregate (55% for SC/PwBD). Candidates must have studied Hindi as main/elective subject in at least 02 years of Bachelor’s Degree course.


Age Limit (as on 01.07.2024):
Minimum Age: 21 years
Maximum Age: 30 years

Age relaxation in upper age limit is as follows:
a. 3 years for OBC
b. 5 years for SC/ST
c. 10 years for General/EWS PwBD (Physically Handicapped).
d. 13 years for OBC PwBD (Physically Handicapped).
e. 15 years for SC/ST PwBD (Physically Handicapped).
f. 5 years for Ex-servicemen (ECO/SSCO) who have rendered at least five years continuous Military Service and have been released on completion of assignment.
g. 5 years for children/family members of victims died in the1984 riots.


Exam Pattern:

A. Preliminary Exam: Same for all posts (RDBS/RajBhasha)

a. Reasoning: 20 questions (20 marks)
b. English Language: 30 questions (30 marks)
c. Computer Knowledge: 20 questions (20 marks)
d. Quantitative Aptitude: 20 questions (20 marks)
e. Decision Making: 10 questions (10 marks)
f. General Awareness: 20 questions (20 marks)
g. Economic & Social Issues: 40 questions (40 marks)
h. Agriculture & Rural Development: 40 questions (40 marks)

Total: 200 questions (200 marks).
Total time: 120 minutes (no sectional time)
Negative Marking: 1/4th (-0.25 marks).

• Qualifying Section: Reasoning, English Language, Computer Knowledge, Quantitative Aptitude, Decision Making.

• Merit Section: General Awareness, Economic & Social Issues, Agriculture & Rural Development.

• Shortlisting for Mains will be done on basis of marks scored in "Merit Section only".


B. Main Exam for Generalist (RDBS) post:

It has two papers:
a. Paper-1: General English - Descriptive (Answers to be typed on keyboard) - 3 questions - 100 marks - 90 minutes.

b. Paper-2: Economic & Social Issues and Agriculture & Rural Development:
Objective: 30 questions - (some are of 1 marks and some are of 2 marks, and negative marking of 1/4) - 50 marks - 30 minutes.
Descriptive: 6 questions (only 4 needs to be answered - 2 of 15 marks each and 2 of 10 marks each) - 50 marks - Answer to be typed on keyboard - 90 minutes.


C. Main Exam for Specialist (RDBS) posts:

It has two papers:
a. Paper-1: General English - Descriptive (Answers to be typed on keyboard) - 3 questions - 100 marks - 90 minutes.

b. Paper-2: Stream Specific Paper:
Objective: 30 questions - (some are of 1 marks and some are of 2 marks, and negative marking of 1/4) - 50 marks - 30 minutes.

D. Main Exam for Rajbhasha (Translator) posts:

It has two papers:
a. Paper-1: General English - Descriptive (Answers to be typed on keyboard) - 3 questions - 100 marks - 90 minutes.

b. Paper-2: Stream Specific Paper:
Objective: 30 questions - (some are of 1 marks and some are of 2 marks, and negative marking of 1/4) - 50 marks - 30 minutes.
Descriptive: 6 questions (only 4 needs to be answered - 2 of 15 marks each and 2 of 10 marks each) - 50 marks - Answer to be typed on keyboard - 90 minutes.


E. Psychometric Test: After you have qualified Mains Exam (Generalist/Specialist/Rajbhasha), you have to give a mandatory psychometric test of 90 minutes duration (it has no marks weightage, but is mandatory).

F. Interview: After giving Psychometric Test, you'll be allowed to give Interview.
• Interview will be of 50 marks for all posts.

Note: Final Merit for appointment will be made on the basis of your score in Mains exam (200 marks) and Interview (50 marks), making a total score of 250.


Ratio of shortlisting:
Ratio of shortlisting candidates for Mains exam is 1:25 and for Interview is 1:3.
