SBI Specialist Cadre Officers (SCO) Recruitment 2024 - Permanent or Contractual Job - Everything Explained

State Bank of India (SBI) has released notification for recruitment of its Specialist Cadre Officers (SCO) for 2024. Various departments like Research, Relationship Management, Portfolio, etc have their separate vacancies. In this blog, we will talk about all those vacancies and the selection process.

Various posts, their seats, salary, educational qualification and age limit:


1. Central Research Team (Product Lead)

Seats: 02 regular posts
Salary: 61 Lakhs CTC

Educational Qualification: MBA/PGDM/PGDBM from Government recognized University or Institution or CA/CFA.

Experience (as of 01.04.2024): Post Qualification Experience of Minimum 5 years in Equity Research/Products experience in Wealth Management/AMC (Mutual Fund)/Banks.

Age Limit (as of 01.04.2024): 30-45 years


2. Central Research Team (Support)

Seats: 02 regular posts
Salary: 20.5 Lakhs CTC

Educational Qualification: Graduate/Post-Graduate in Commerce/Finance/Economics/Management/Mathematics/Statistics from Government recognized University or Institution.

Experience (as of 01.04.2024): Post Qualification Experience of Minimum 3 years in financial services providing support to Research/Publications department.

Age Limit (as of 01.04.2024): 25-35 years


3. Project Development Manager (Technology)

Seats: 01 regular posts
Salary: 30 Lakhs CTC

Educational Qualification: MBA/MMS/PGDM/ME/M.Tech./BE/B.Tech./PGDBM from Government recognized University or Institution.

Experience (as of 01.04.2024): Minimum 4 years’ post qualification experience in banking Technology preferably in a business function.

Age Limit (as of 01.04.2024): 25-40 years


4. Project Development Manager (Business)

Seats: 02 regular posts
Salary: 30 Lakhs CTC

Educational Qualification: MBA/PGDM/PGDBM from Government recognized University or Institution.

Experience (as of 01.04.2024): Post Qualification Experience of Minimum 5 years in Bank/wealth Management firms/broking firms.

Age Limit (as of 01.04.2024): 30-40 years


5. Relationship Manager (RM)

Seats: 150 regular and 123 backlog posts
Salary: 30 Lakhs CTC

Educational Qualification:
Graduate from Government recognized University or Institution.

Experience (as of 01.04.2024): Post-qualification experience of minimum 3 years as a Relationship Manager in Wealth Management with leading Public/Private/Foreign Banks/Broking/ Security firms. The candidate should have 3 years of experience in building and managing relationship with High-Net-worth Clients (having a minimum Total Relationship Value (TRV) of Rs 20.00 Lakh).

Age Limit (as of 01.04.2024): 23-35 years


6. Vise President (VP) Wealth

Seats: 600 regular and 43 backlog posts
Salary: 45 Lakhs CTC

Educational Qualification: Graduate from Government recognized University or Institution.

Experience (as of 01.04.2024): Post Qualification Experience of minimum 6 years as a Relationship Manager in Wealth Management with leading Public/Private/Foreign banks/Broking/ Security firms. The candidate should have adequate experience in building and managing relationship with Ultra High Net Worth Clients (having a minimum Total Relationship Value (TRV) of Rs 100.00 Lakh).

Age Limit (as of 01.04.2024): 26-42 years


7. Relationship Manager (Team Lead)

Seats: 21 regular and 11 backlog posts
Salary: 52 Lakhs CTC

Educational Qualification: Graduate from Government recognized University or Institution.

Experience (as of 01.04.2024): Post qualification experience of minimum 8 years in relationship management in wealth management with leading Public/Private/Foreign banks/Broking/ Security firms.

Age Limit (as of 01.04.2024): 28-42 years


8. Regional Head

Seats: 02 regular and 04 backlog posts
Salary: 66.5 Lakhs CTC

Educational Qualification: Graduate from Government recognized University or Institution.

Experience (as of 01.04.2024):
i. Post Qualification Experience of Minimum 12 years of experience in relationship management in wealth management with leading Public/Private/Foreign Banks/Broking/Security firms.

ii. Post Qualification minimum 5 years of experience in leading a large team of Relationship Managers or a Team Lead in Wealth Management is mandatory.

Age Limit (as of 01.04.2024): 35-50 years


9. Investment Specialist

Seats: 30 regular posts
Salary: 44 Lakhs CTC

Educational Qualification:
i. MBA/PGDM/PGDBM from recognized College/University or CA/CFA
ii. Certification by NISM 21A (Valid)

Experience (as of 01.04.2024): Minimum 6 years of post-qualification experience as an investment advisor/counsellor/officer/part of product team in Wealth Management organization.

Age Limit (as of 01.04.2024): 28-42 years


10. Investment Officer

Seats: 23 regular and 26 backlog posts
Salary: 26.5 Lakhs CTC

Educational Qualification:
i. MBA/PGDM/PGDBM from recognized College/University or CA/CFA
ii. Certification by NISM 21A (Valid)

Experience (as of 01.04.2024): Minimum 4 years of post-qualification experience as an investment advisor/counsellor/officer/part of product team in Wealth Management organization

Age Limit (as of 01.04.2024): 28-40 years



Note: This is not a permanent government job. It is a contractual job.

Contract Period: 5 years.


Selection Process:
The selection will be based on shortlisting and interview-cum-CTC negotiations.

• Interview-cum-CTC Negotiation: Interview will carry 100 marks. The qualifying marks in interview will be decided by the Bank.

• Merit list: Merit list for selection will be prepared in descending order on the basis of scores obtained in interview only. In case more than one candidate scores the cut-off marks (common marks at cut-off point), such candidates will be ranked according to their age in descending order, in the merit list.
