EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION (as on 20/12/2024):
(i) Bachelor’s Degree (Min 55% marks) with knowledge of computer applications with at least 1 year of relevant experience, OR,
(ii) Master’s Degree (Min 55% marks) with knowledge of computer applications.
AGE LIMIT (as on 20/12/2024):

• Age relaxation in Upper Age Limit will be provided to:
1. OBC-NCL: 03 years
2. SC/ST: 05 years
3. Physically Handicapped: 10 years
4. Ex-servicemen (ESM): Actual period of service rendered in the defence forces + 3 years
5. Regular employees of IITs who are educationally qualified can be considered for direct recruitment across the whole IIT system up to a maximum of 50 years of age.
6. Persons who have rendered a minimum of three years service/deployment at IIT Mandi on contract/outsourced/adhoc/temporary/projects and who are educationally qualified: up to a maximum of 50 years of age.
SALARY:
• Pay level: level-3 (₹21,700-69,100)
• Grade Pay: 2100
• Basic Pay: ₹21,700
• Dearness Allowance (DA): 50%
• House Rent Allowance (HRA): 20%
• Travelling Allowance: ₹3600 + DA (50%)
• Gross Salary: ₹45,000 approx.
• Net in-hand salary: ₹40,000 approx.
JOB PROFILE of Junior Assistants:
1. Assisting higher officials with day-to-day office and field work.
2. Dispatching files.
3. Typing, recording, and Indexing, to prepare files and statements.
4. Registering files in the office.
5. Calibration and troubleshooting of equipment as needed.
6. Doing professional and domain-specific tasks in the accounting and administrative fields.
7. Other tasks, as assigned by the higher authorities.
SELECTION PROCESS:
Selection Process takes place in two stages:
1. Stage-I: Written Exam
2. Stage-II - Skill/Trade Test
1. Stage-I: Written Exam:
It will have two sections:
(a) Section-I: It will be of 40 marks, and will contain questions from:
(i) Language Competency
(ii) Computer Proficiency
(iii) Quantitative Aptitude
(iv) General Awareness & Current Affairs
(v) Logical Reasoning
(b) Section-II: It will be of 60 marks, and will contain questions from "Office procedures and service matters" (Basic knowledge of service rules and service matters, RTI Act, GFRs, NPS, purchase rules and financial matters, TA & LTC rules, Leave rules, Audit rules, Legal rules, Knowledge of IIT system and its Act, Statutes, Ordinance & Regulations, Policies and academic admission procedures and programmes of IITs, etc.)
• Total Number of Questions: 100 questions
• Marks for each question: 1 marks
• Total Marks: 100 marks
• Total Time: 2 hours (120 minutes)
• Negative Marking: -1/4th (-0.25 marks)
2. Stage-II - Skill/Trade Test:
On the basis of performance in the Written Exam, candidates will be shortlisted and called for the Skill Test.
• Skills Tested: Letter writing, Official note sheet on a given topic, Drafting Office Orders/Notification etc, Essay/note on a generic topic, precise writing, case study, report writing, Computer proficiency/knowledge etc.
NOTE: After qualifying the skill test, final selection will be done on the basis of marks scored in the Written Exam.
