The Jute Corporation of India Limited (JCI) was set up in 1971 under Companies Act, 1956 as an official agency by the Government of India, with the aim to provide minimum support price (MSP) to the jute cultivators and work as a helping hand in the raw jute sector and does commercial trading in raw jute and allied products.
The Jute Corporation of India (JCI) has released notification for Various Posts Recruitment 2024.
Here in this blog, I have explained all the details of this recruitment examination.

Posts: Accountant, Junior Assistant, Junior Inspector.

Vacancy in JCI Various Posts 2024 Recruitment:
1. Accountant: 23 vacancies
(UR: 10, EWS: 2, OBC: 5, SC: 4, ST: 2)

2. Junior Assistant: 25 vacancies
(UR: 11, EWS: 2, OBC: 6, SC: 4, ST: 2)

3. Junior Inspector: 42 vacancies
(UR: 17, EWS: 4, OBC: 10, SC: 7, ST: 4)

Educational Qualification (as on 01/09/2024):
1. For Accountant:

MCom with Advanced Accountancy and auditing as a special subject with 5 Years’ experience in maintaining commercial accounts, OR,
BCom with 7 Years’ experience in maintaining commercial accounts.

2. For Junior Assistant:
Graduate or equivalent from a recognized university with experience in using computers (MS word & Excel) and minimum typing speed of 40 wpm in English.

3. For Junior Inspector:
Passed class 12th or equivalent with 3 Years’ experience in purchase/sale of raw jute; its grading and assorting/bailing/storage/transportation.

Age Limit (as on 01/09/2024):
Minimum Age: Not Available
Maximum Age: 30 years
Relaxation in the upper age limit shall be as follows:
1. OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) 33 Years
2. SC/ST 35 Years
3. PwBD 40 Years
4. PwBD + SC/ST 45 Years
5. PwBD + OBC (NCL) 43 Years
6. Ex-Servicemen: 3 years after deduction of service period.
7. Internal Employees of JCI: 5 years.

Internal Employees of JCI:
Those employees (contractual/outsourced) who are currently working in JCI and have completed at least 5 years of service, and are having following designations:
1. Additional Accountant (for getting age relaxation for Accountant).
2. Additional Junior Assistant/Data Entry Operator (for getting age relaxation for Junior Assistant).
3. Additional Junior Inspector/Additional Marketing Executive/Additional Marketing Officer (for getting age relaxation for Junior Inspector).


Salary of Various Posts of JCI:
A. Salary of Accountant:

IDA Pay Scale: ₹28,600-1,15,000/-
Basic Pay: ₹28,600
Gross Salary: ₹54,000 approx
In-hand salary: ₹47,500 approx.

B. Salary of Junior Assistant & Junior Inspector:
IDA Pay Scale: ₹21,500-86,000/-
Basic Pay: ₹21,500
Gross Salary: ₹41,500 approx
In-hand salary: ₹36,000 approx.


Job Profile of Various Posts of JCI:
A. Job Profile of Accountant:
1. Financial data collection, analysis, and reporting.
2. Creating regular reports such as balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and so on.
3. Data presentation to managers, investors, and other entities.
4. Keeping accurate financial records.
5. Auditing and resolving discrepancies.
6. Calculating taxes.
7. Keeping up to date on current financial and accounting legislation.
8. Preparing budgets and financial forecasts to assist management in decision-making.
9. Undertake monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting activities.
10. Analyze and report on financial status, including income statement variances.
11. Enhance systems and procedures, and take corrective action.

B. Job Profile of Junior Assistant:
1. Assisting with day-to-day administrative tasks, such as filing, data entry, and managing schedules.
2. Handling phone calls, emails, and correspondence on behalf of senior staff.
3. Preparing and organizing documents, reports, and presentations.
4. Interacting with clients or customers, addressing inquiries, and providing assistance.
5. Supporting team members in various tasks, contributing to projects, and attending meetings.
6. Assisting with invoicing, expense tracking, or budget management.
7. Making sales reports (Excel sheets), etc

C. Job Profile of Junior Inspector:
1. Assisting the Inspector with the inspection of jute mills, depots, etc, to ensure the quality of jute products.
2. Physically inspecting raw jute as well as finished goods.
3. Preparing reports or statements on quality of raw jute as well as finished goods.
4. Conducting training sessions on quality jute cultivation.
5. Other related work assigned by the corporation or the senior inspector.


Selection Process:
The selection process is different for all posts:
A. For Accountant post:
The selection to the post of Accountant in JCI will be done in the following stages:
1. Stage - I: Computer Based Test (CBT)
2. Stage - II: Document Verification
3. Stage - III: Final Merit List

B. For Junior Assistant (JA) post:
The selection to the post of Junior Assistant in JCI will be done in the following stages:
1. Stage - I: Computer Based Test (CBT) & Typing Test (both conducted on the same day).
2. Stage - II: Document Verification
3. Stage - III: Final Merit List

• Typing Test will be qualifying in nature (40 WPM for General/EWS/OBC/SC/ST, and 35 WPM for PwBD).

C. For Junior Inspector (JI) post:
The selection to the post of Junior Inspector in JCI will be done in the following stages:
1. Stage - I: Computer Based Test (CBT)
2. Stage - II: Document Verification
3. Stage - III: Trade Test.
4. Stage - IV: Final Merit List

• Trade Test will be conducted along with Document Verification (on the same day).
It will be qualifying in nature, and the qualifying criteria is as follows:
1. General/EWS/OBC: 60%
2. SC/ST/PwBD: 55%

COMPUTER BASED TEST (CBT):
• The Computer Based Test (CBT) for all the posts (Accountant/Junior Assistant/Junior Inspector) will be conducted on the same day, and will have the same exam pattern.
• Questions will be asked from the following:
1. English Language: 25 questions - 25 marks
2. General Awareness: 25 questions - 25 marks
3. Reasoning: 25 questions - 25 marks
4. Quantitative Aptitude: 25 questions - 25 marks

TOTAL: 100 questions - 100 marks
Total Time: 120 minutes.
Negative Marking: No Any.
Type of questions: Objective-Type.


FINAL MERIT LIST:
The final result will be based on: [CBT marks (for all posts)
+ clearance in document verification (for all posts)
+ qualifying the typing test (only for JA post)
+ Trade Test marks (only for JI post)] of the candidates.
