Delhi Police is one of the state police forces of India, whose work jurisdiction is Union Territory of Delhi.
Though it looks like a state police, it's actually a central police force, as it comes directly under the "Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), Government of India".
The promotions, transfers, etc are done by the MHA, not the Delhi State Government.
