Allahabad High Court has released a centralised notification for recruitment of Stenographer Grade III in Civil Courts of Uttar Pradesh.

VACANCY:
A total of 583 vacancies have been distributed among the following posts as follows:
1. Stenographer Grade III (Hindi): 517 posts
(UR: 207, EWS: 51, OBC: 140, SC: 81, ST: 38)

2. Stenographer Grade III (English): 66 posts
(UR: 26, EWS: 7, OBC: 18, SC: 10, ST: 5)

Remember: Other State Candidates will always be considered as General (Unreserved) Candidates.

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION:
A. For Stenographer Grade III (Hindi):
(i) Bachelor Degree from any UGC recognised university.
(ii) Diploma or certificate in Stenography with a speed of 80 wpm in shorthand and 30 wpm in Typing (both) in Hindi.
(iii) CCC certificate issued by NIELIT (DOEACC Society) and 25 wpm for Hindi and 30 wpm for English Typewriting on Computer.

B. For Stenographer Grade III (English):
(i) Bachelor Degree from any UGC recognised university.
(ii) Diploma or certificate in Stenography with a speed of 100 wpm in shorthand and 40 wpm in Typing (both) in English.
(iii) CCC certificate issued by NIELIT (DOEACC Society) and 25 wpm for Hindi and 30 wpm for English Typewriting on Computer.

PREFERENCIAL QUALIFICATION:
Preference will be given to candidates who have:
(i) Served in the territorial army for a minimum period of two years, OR,
(ii) Obtained A/B certificate of the N.C.C.

AGE LIMIT (as on 01/07/2024):
Minimum: 18 years
Maximum: 40 years

• Age relaxation in the upper age limit will be given to:
1. SC, ST, OBC and Dependents of Freedom Fighter (D.F.F.) of Uttar Pradesh: 05 years
2. Skilled Sportspersons of Uttar Pradesh: 05 years
3. Ex Servicemen (ESM) of the State of Uttar Pradesh: 03 years after deduction of the military service rendered.
4. Physically Handicapped of Uttar Pradesh: 15 years

SALARY:
• Level: 5
• Pay Band: 5200-20200
• Grade Pay: 2800
• Basic Pay: ₹29,200
• Dearness Allowance: 50%
• Gross Salary: ₹47,800 approx.
• NET (In-hand) Salary: ₹41,400 approx.

PROBATION PERIOD:
Probation period is of two (2) years.
However, you get all the allowances and full salary during this period.

JOB Profile of Stenographer Grade III:
1. Shorthand typing and taking dictation.
2. Writing, transcribing, and compilation of office documents.
3. Translating typed text into a common language.
4. Keeping precise records of files, papers, and other official documents.
5. Meetings are scheduled and data is gathered for supervisors.
6. Preserving the privacy of official documents and affairs.
7. Maintaining the proper order of papers to be handed up to authorities.
8. Strategically structuring and presenting documents.
9. Bringing reference books, rules, and ordinances up to date.
10. Keeping track of case developments until they are resolved.

Promotion of Stenographer Grade III:
Promotion is given through two modes:
(a) Seniority basis: at least 10 years service in existing grade.
(b) Departmental Exam: at least 5 years service in existing grade.
Now, the promotion of Stenographer Grade III takes place as follows:
1. First Promotion (Seniority/Departmental): Personal Assistant (PA)/Stenographer Grade II (9300-34800, 4200 GP).
2. Second Promotion (Seniority/Departmental): Private Secretary/Stenographer Grade I (9300-34800, 4600 GP).
After this, Stenographers get retired.

SELECTION PROCESS:
Selection to the service will be done in two stages:
A. Written Test (100 marks)
B. Skill Test (100 marks)

A. Written Test:
This stage will consist of an Offline pen-paper (OMR) Based Test, which will include questions from:
1. Hindi
2. English
3. General Studies
4. Mathematics
• Total Questions: 100 MCQs
• Total Marks: 100 marks
• Type of Paper: Objective Type (MCQs)
• Total Time: 90 minutes
• Negative Marking: No any.

B. Skill Test:
It will be conducted in two parts:
1. Part-A: Typing Test:
(i) Hindi Typing: 25 marks
(ii) English Typing: 25 marks
• Total (Typing Test): 50 marks
• Minimum Qualifying marks: 10 out of 25 for both Hindi and English Type Test.

2. Part-B: Stenography Test:
• For Hindi Stenographers: 80 wpm Shorthand in Hindi.
• For English Stenographers: 100 wpm Shorthand in English.
• Either Hindi/English, Total Marks = 50 marks.

FINAL MERIT:
Marks of both stages will be considered for preparing the final merit list.
So, Final Merit = 100 + 100 = 200 marks.
