Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (PGCIL) has released notification for recruitment of Trainee Engineer & Trainee Supervisor for its subsidiary POWERGRID Energy Services Limited (PESL).

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION (as on 06/11/2024):
A. Trainee Engineer (Electrical):

(i) BE/B.Tech/B.SC Engineering Degree in Electrical or equivalent streams with 60% Marks.
(ii) Valid GATE 2024 Score Card
• Equivalent streams: Electrical/Electrical (Power)/Electrical and Electronics/Power Systems Engineering/Power Engineering (Electrical)

B. Trainee Supervisor:
Diploma in Electrical Engineering or equivalent streams with 70% Marks.
(SC/ST/PH : Pass Only)
• Equivalent streams: Electrical/Electrical (Power)/Electrical and Electronics/Power Systems Engineering/Power Engineering (Electrical)

AGE LIMIT (as on 06/11/2024):
A. For Trainee Engineer (Electrical): up to 28 years
B. For Trainee Supervisor: up to 27 years

Age relaxation in the upper age limit will be given to:
(i) SC/ST: 5 years
(ii) OBC: 3 years
(iii) Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PWBD): 10 years (GEN), 13 years (OBC) & 15 years (SC/ST)
(iv) Ex-servicemen: To the extent of service rendered by them in Armed Forces plus an additional period of 3 years.

SALARY:
A. For Trainee Engineer (Electrical):

• IDA Pay Scale: 30,000-1,20,000
• Basic Pay: ₹30,000
• Allowances: DA, LCA, HRA, Grade Allowance, etc.
• Perquisites: Medical Reimbursement, Leave Travel Concession, Canteen, Newspaper Allowance, Reimbursement of Monthly Conveyance, Mobile & Digital Services, Leave encashment, etc.
• Gross Salary: ₹68,000 approx.
• NET (In-hand Salary): ₹60,000 approx.

B. For Trainee Supervisor:
• IDA Pay Scale: 24,000-3%-1,08,000
• Basic Pay: ₹24,000
• Allowances: DA, LCA, HRA, Grade Allowance, etc.
• Perquisites: Medical Reimbursement, Leave Travel Concession, Canteen, Newspaper Allowance, Reimbursement of Monthly Conveyance, Mobile & Digital Services, Leave encashment, etc.
• Gross Salary: ₹55,000 approx.
• NET (In-hand Salary): ₹48,000 approx.

TRAINING PERIOD:
• Training is of One (1) year duration.
• After satisfactory completion of training, Trainee Engineers (Electrical) are inducted into the service as "Assistant Engineer (Electrical)".
• After satisfactory completion of training, Trainee Supervisor are inducted into the service as "Sub Junior Engineer (Electrical)".

BOND:
A. For Trainee Engineer (Electrical):

• Bond Amount:
(i) For General/OBC/EWS: ₹5,00,000
(ii) For SC/ST/PH: ₹2,50,000
• Bond Condition: Serving the Corporation for a minimum period of three (3) years after successful completion of training.

B. For Trainee Supervisor:
• Bond Amount:
(i) For General/OBC/EWS: ₹2,50,000
(ii) For SC/ST/PH: ₹1,25,000
• Bond Condition: Serving the Corporation for a minimum period of three (3) years after successful completion of training.

SELECTION PROCESS:
A. For Trainee Engineer (Electrical):

• Selection will be done on the basis of GATE Score 2024, group discussion & personal interview, each having weightage as follows:
(i) GATE Score 2024: 85%
(ii) Group Discussion: 3%
(iii) Personal Interview: 13%

B. For Trainee Supervisor:
• Selection will be done on the basis of Computer Based Test (CBT), which will be "Objective Type".
• Each question shall have four answer options.
• There will be 170 questions, divided in two parts:
(i) Part-I : 120 Questions [Technical Knowledge Test (TKT)]
{will have questions from the respective discipline}
(ii) Part-II : 50 Questions [Aptitude Test (AT)]
{will have questions on vocabulary, verbal comprehension, quantitative aptitude, reasoning ability, etc.}
• All questions carry equal marks (1 mark)
• Total : 170 Questions - 170 marks
• Negative Marking: one fourth (-1/4th)
